Images of the Sun.

The Sun through a Baader Filter

White light image of the Sun taken using a Canon 350D Digital SLR and a Baader solar filter. Although there are no flares or sun spots to see the picture does show boiling nature of the sun, with cells of rising and falling gas.

H-Alpha image of Sun through PST

Screen grab of first attempt of an image using the Coronado Personal Solar Telescope in conjunction with a Meade LPI camera. This is a small telescope with an H-Alpha filter. The dark streaks are filaments, promenences can be seen on the solar limb (edge of apparent disc) and the lighter area is known as a plage. I plan to take a great deal more images with this new bit of kit as soon as possible... i.e. when the weather perks up a bit.
