Deep space images of stars, nebulae and galaxies.

Living in light polluted south west London it can be pretty difficult pick anything faint out of the red haze that is the night sky. Using filters and post processing techniques it's just possible to get some reasonable shots.

Albireo

A 10 second exposure using Canon 350D of the double star Albireo.

Sun

This certainly isn't deep sky but its a star so it's in here for the moment. Taken using a Canon 350D Digital SLR and a Baader solar filter. Although there are no flares or sun spots to see the picture does show boiling nature of the sun, with cells of rising and falling gas.
